In the year 2024, many parts of the country witnessed reduced rainfall. During the summer, Bangalore experienced unprecedented water shortage. While, as a resident, I felt the pinch and my heart went out to all those who were suffering, still that could not apply brakes on my pencil.
Indian Meteorological Department forecast abnormal rains this year. Though the prediction was comforting, with the sun scorching outside,, it also sounded unbelievable.
It rained! For a full 10 - 15 minutes with the suitable accompaniment of thunder and lightning. The afternoon sky was as dark as an evening sky. It was a sight that filled us with joy. Hope that is some kind of a sample or trailer for a full monsoon. Prayers for ending the dry spell across the nation.
